Artist Statement (Passing Through):
Footprints in the sand. Some are distinct, others not. Their shapes constantly change and become fainter and fainter as each new wave spills in. Fascinating to watch, more fascinating to contemplate.

Obviously, the footprints were left by people out walking, people passing through, but who are those people? How long ago did they walk here? Where did they come from? Where did they go?

Who else has walked here over time, leaving their mark? Over the years ... the centuries ... the millennia?

It's relatively easy to see someone's footprints on a beach and watch as they are slowly washed away. Harder to notice and interpret are the metaphorical footprints that a person leaves behind as they are passing through life.

This series of photographs was taken in 2022.
