Artist Statement (the Community):
Community: A group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common.
Communities can be large or small, loosely tied or tightly knit, welcoming and inclusive, or aloof and exclusive. They can be extremely structured with members taking on well-defined roles, or haphazard with independent decision making the norm. In some, membership is optional. In others, not.
Communities and the individuals that make them up change with time, but one thing remains constant. We all belong - somewhere.
This series of photographs was taken in 2015.
