Artist Statement:
Leaves are down and the underlying structure of the forest is revealed. Look Up! Time to see what has been hidden and gone unnoticed for so long.

At first glance it is obvious that no individual tree in the woodlot is the same as its neighbour. Each one is unique and dramatically different in form from all the others. Are some more interesting than others? Do any evoke some sort of emotional response or stimulate imagination?

As time passes, observations lead to questions. What natural events have shaped what we see? How long ago? Do neighbouring trees have an influence on the shapes of those in their vicinity? How? Physically? By some sort of energy transmitted through the vast network of branches that reaches throughout the forest?

So many questions to answer, and so much more to study and contemplate. Look Up!
